Internship
In the fall of 2024, I had the opportunity to intern at Le Bookshop, an anglophone bookstore located in the heart of Montpellier, France. During my internship at Le Bookshop in Montpellier, France, I was able to immerse myself in the dynamic world of international business and literature. Working in a local bookstore allowed me to interact with an array of customers from different backgrounds and cultures, assist in day-to-day operations, and develop skills in customer service and inventory management. This experience broadened my understanding of the French retail market while developing my ability to communicate across cultures and adapt to a foreign work environment. My time at Le Bookshop was not only a professional growth opportunity but also a chance to connect with the local culture and deepen my appreciation for international business.

Alongside this internship, I was able to take an internship class (MONT 3303) focused on weekly discussions of each student's individual internship experience, as well as knowledge on the French work culture. While interning 140+ hours during my time at Le Bookshop, many of my daily tasks included preparing drink orders for customers, maintaining the structure and organization of the store's literature collections, updating inventory on the company's website, developing promotion ideas for underselling books, and have casual conversation with customers learning English. Being able to combine my love for reading, my major, and the experiences of applying them in another professional culture has created life-long inspiration and memories.
