Outreach Activities

Throughout my time at Clemson University, I have been actively involved in organizations that align with my values of community engagement and leadership. As a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., I serve as the Custodian of Properties, managing the organization's resources while fostering a strong sisterhood. I also mentored students through CONNECTIONS, guiding them as they navigate the beginning of their academic and personal journeys as college students. Additionally, as the Social Media Coordinator for the Clemson Gospel Choir, I contribute to promoting our choir's mission and building community through gospel. These experiences have shaped my leadership skills and commitment to making a positive impact on campus and beyond.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. was founded on January 13, 1913 as a community service based organization for college educated women, committed to the constructive development of its members and to public service primarily aiding the black community. Being a part of this organization has allowed me to engage in continuous, meaningful community service around the Clemson area and other South Carolina communities. I have also been able to develop my leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, which have furthered my professional development outside of the organization.

CONNECTIONS

Clemson University's CONNECTIONS program is intended to assist freshmen as they adjust to college life. By putting students in touch with a network of peers, mentors, and resources, it aims to improve their academic, social, and personal growth. The program offers supervised activities, workshops, and opportunities to form connections that promote a feeling of community on campus. CONNECTIONS also seeks to support students' academic success and increase their involvement in the campus community. I have had the opportunity to be both a mentor and a Senior Peer Mentor for this program, where I was able to build a relationship with my individual mentee and later on with the mentees and mentors within my pillar group as a Senior Peer Mentor. Mentors are responsible for being not only leaders within the program, but positive examples not only within the campus community but in local communities outside of Clemson. Community service and engagement are key areas of focus within the program.

Clemson Gospel Choir

The Clemson Gospel Choir (formerly known as the Clemson University Gospel Choir), was created in 1979 by students Don German and Lawrence Nesbitt. With the motto: “We seek to worship Christ in song and spread the gospel”, Clemson Gospel Choir has continued to be an independent, student-led organization. One of the first organizations I joined on campus, the Clemson Gospel Choir has created some of my most cherished memories as a student. Being a member since 2021, I have had the opportunity to sing at many different choirs around the Clemson area, perform in on-campus events such as the MLK Commemorative Keynote Program, as well as perform at our very own yearly spring and fall concerts.
